Fruit trading is practically in my blood. My grandfather used to go through the streets of Rotterdam with a horse and cart, selling fruits and vegetables. He started with a grocery store and later expanded into a wholesale business, where I often spent time as a child. That’s where my love for the trade began.
A few years ago, I started my career at another company in the fresh produce sector. In between, I worked for a short period as a project manager in the staffing industry, but I quickly realized that my heart lies with fruit (vegetables aren’t really my thing, haha).
What attracts me to this sector is the dynamic environment, the personal contact with international customers, and delivering high-quality products at a good price. I am currently a commercial manager at FMI and have also become a co-shareholder since May 2024, so I’m really enjoying my time here. We are a close-knit team, each with our own clients, and no day is the same. There’s plenty of room for initiative and personal development, which I greatly appreciate.
In short, I feel completely at home at FMI!
